Each year, the Tennessee 4-H program recognizes a supporter who has gone above and beyond to support 4-H Youth Development. This year at Congress, we honored Dr. Joe DiPietro, the 24th president of the University of Tennessee, with the 2018 Friend of 4-H Award.

During the third week of March, 4-H students from across the state gathered in Murfreesboro to celebrate the successes and achievements of the previous year.

The legacy and impact of the late Mary Jo Brinkmann is carried on today through a scholarship given in her honor by her husband Bob Brinkmann. Since 2001, the scholarship has been awarded at every 4-H Roundup, and so far 17 people have been on the receiving end.

Meet Emily Nave, a junior at Cannon County High School in Woodbury, who is an outstanding example of what it means to be a 4-H member and the qualities one must possess to be successful.

Katie Lee, a native of Madisonville, Tennessee, is proof that the skills learned in 4-H Club as a youth carry over into adulthood and can help a member fulfill his or her dreams.

Each summer, Tennessee 4-H’ers keep themselves occupied. Between Roundup, camp and academic conferences across the state and country, students are quite busy. Here’s a preview of exciting things to come this season.
