We are now accepting nominations for 4-H’ers Under 40 class of 2026. This program was created to recognize 4-H alumni who have made significant contributions to their communities and who are leaders in their fields.
To be eligible for 4-H’ers under 40, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Nominees must be under the age of 40 on December 31, 2026
- Nominees must be a Tennessee 4-H alumni
How will 4-H’ers Under 40 be recognized?
Those accepted into the 4-H’ers Under 40 programs will be recognized in the 4-H Foundation Annual Report, during the 2026 Alumni Reunion and through social media.
What are the opportunities and expectations of those selected?
Service Project
The group will select a service project that benefits the Tennessee 4-H program that is to be completed over the next year. There are several opportunities for the group to volunteer at local, regional or state events, or raise funds for 4-H. This year’s honorees will get to choose how they serve.
Monthly Leadership Development Opportunities
Those selected will have the opportunity to meet monthly via Zoom. The first meeting will be held in the late spring of 2026. There will be a total of six-monthly meetings held.
Those selected will be asked to commit to attending a minimum of 4 of the 6 meetings to be recognized as a 4-H’ers Under 40.
The monthly meetings will be approximately one hour and include a speaker on leadership. The group will also have time during the meetings to select and plan their service project.
